Rock and ice are swapped for steel and glass. Take a crack crew of elite climbers, engage the country's best climbing route setter, enlist the support of a forward thinking commercial property company and throw in a rock star's son for good measure. The stage is set for the Aerial Assault: the world's only climbing event using skyscrapers. In 2005 and 2006 Manchester city centre was the venue for one of the most surreal and spectacular adventure events ever. Tens of thousands watched as 24 elite climbers (and Jack Osbourne) scaled 12 of the city's most impressive buildings, including the world's highest artificial climbing wall up the front of the Bruntwood city tower.
